💸 $20k to focus and start the next big thing

Superteam and Solana Foundation Grants are starting the Moonshot Fund focussed on funding applicants with impeccable proof of work in their domain, with a one-time grant to build their big project. These are projects building high-end infrastructure, consumer apps and future core contributors and companies on Solana. We are only looking to support projects that we think can go on to raise a seed round from VC funds, or get a very large grant from the Solana Foundation Capital Team to continue building their public good or infrastructure projects.

Areas of focus:

  1. Consumer Apps. Things which if successful will bring at least thousands of more users on chain and to Solana.
  2. Payments Companies. Enable crypto payments, on-ramps, off-ramps unlocking a whole new world in your country.
  3. Infrastructure. Primarily tech-heavy projects which can help make Solana faster, cheaper and more censorship resistance.
  4. Research. Potentially seminal work that has the ability to change the trajectory of the Solana network.

The Foundation receive tens of applications every week, and may not have the time to give detailed feedback on every application. Please keep that in mind before you apply.

NOTE: The core team does not manage the Foundation’s grant program. We simply make recommendations to the sponsors of the grant program on quality grant applications. You are also free to apply directly on their website for a grant.

⚙️ Guidelines

  1. This is a grant to work on something full-time. If we find out you are doing it part-time or have multiple parallel projects the grant may be terminated mid-way.
  2. This grant program is not for beginners. If you are looking to learn and get started afresh you would be better suited for the other

  3. The application form would take upto 10-15 mins, take your time. Unlike other grants, acceptance from Solana Foundation would take upto a week, and there might be an interview involved later on as well. Rejections may be instant.
  4. If approved, you may be paired up with a mentor who will guide you through your journey and help whenever required.
  5. Ideal payment schedule is 25% per tranche across four tranches, spread across 3-5 months. We are open to being flexible here in case of any extenuating circumstances.

Who is eligible to apply for this grant?

Anyone who with 1) good quality proof of work already under their best, 2) intending to work on their idea full time, is encouraged to apply for this grant.

How fast is "Instant"?

Unlike our other Instagrants, the Moonshot Fund is open to funding builders with amounts as high as 20 hours. Select applicants will be interviewed as well, so the time to decision is estimated to be upto 1 week from application.

What conditions apply?

The conditions are that 1) you keep the community updated on a regular basis as your project progresses, 2) you do not start any other big work related commitments, and 3) you work on the biggest, highest ambition version of your project possible.

Will I receive feedback on my proposal if it is rejected?

Unfortunately, our sponsors do not have the ability to provide individualized feedback at this time.
